In 2005 we purchased our property and 6 months later were able to get our first two 'girls', Rosemary and Serenity. These two purebred Nubian does, the foundation of our herd, have quickly become the 'gran dams' of what was to become Latte Da Dairy...

Rosemary

In the fall of 2006 we added 'a few more' girls to the farm. (OK, so more than a few (!) ...13 to be exact ...but who's counting !!). Each of these girls has their own delightful personality and they have thoroughly intrigued & entertained us !

You can see more about each of these girls on our "Divas" page !

Dozer

With the help of Serenity, we began making goat cheeses for ourselves and our friends. We have successfully replicated the wonderful artisanal goat cheeses we’ve tasted in Europe. We have also found pleasure and satisfaction in creating something that people taste and say “WOW”. What started out simply as fun has turned into a passion!

THE NEXT STEP…

With some trepidation, we took a DEEP breath and embarked upon the building a dairy barn and COMMERCIAL CHEESE making facility ! Ground breaking and construction began in October 2006. Farmstead in the Making

Believe it or not, we are BOTH 'city kids' !.... but we dreamed of a small farm.

·          We've always had a love for animals, the country, fresh air and open spaces.

·          We wanted a simpler life, less time in airports, and more time to enjoy being together and to treasure each day as it comes.

·          As things began to fall into place, the farm dream evolved to include a farmstead goat dairy.  Where we would not only raise and milk our goats but also create cheeses from the milk that our goats produce.

Finally, you can't have goats without a guardian... so along came Dozer the llama. This handsome fellow's job is to keep the girls safe from any coyote/predator who might consider one of our girls a 'meal'.
