With so much talk about the 'girls'...we would be remiss in not acknowledging the 'boys' (aka bucks).

 

These fellas are so very important to the success of our herd. In reality, one buck can make more of an impact on a herd's quality and success than any one individual doe. All nubian bucks are G6S negative.

 

They are all very sweet and gentle natured and love to have their faces rubbed and scratched. We gladly do this except for in the fall when they are "in rut" and PRETTY STINKY !!!

 

These guys mostly get to 'hang out' until it is time for a 'date' with one of the 'girls'. They have a large area to roam and graze. This keeps them physically fit and happy mentally. So far, we have kept them all together as they all seem to get along really well and have formed their own herd. We think this is in part due to the space and quality of life we try to afford them.
