Mercy is the first doe kid combining our Wingwood Farms Timothy son with a Dakota Playboy daughter. We love the depth of body and smoothness of blending in this little girl. She got her Junior leg in September and was Best Junior Doe in Show.
She kidded in 2016 and the old adage that a Junior leg and a BJDIS is "bad omen for an udder" seems to play thru here. We love how well her udder is attached and its texture but were a bit disappointed with the teat shape and placement.(Yes ONLY 4 point!). She was milking really a well so we milked thru 2017 very easily. She had 2 doe kids in 2018, and our intention was to keep one to see if Legacy could "fix" her teat shape/placement. However a buyer wanted to buy not one, but insisted on buying both girls. Hopefully we can follow up with them in a year or so and see how their mammaries have shaped up. She will milk thru again in 2019. |
