PayDay's mother, Bonnie LA91, is so much like her mother Sonara LA91, slow to develop but then sturdy and fabulous by the time she is 4. We've held onto PayDay because of this as well as to bring the Timber Cove genetics into our herd. He is long and very up hill, extremely correct and strong on his feet. He should put beautiful udders on his daughters. His linears show that he is indeed maturing very nicely !!!
He was shown as a yearling in 2009 with four 2nd place wins, each time behind the buck that was Grand Champion !! In 2010 he was first place in each of 4 shows and was Reserve Champion twice !!! In 2011 he was Reserve Champion twice more, and again in 2012. We joke that he is always the bridesmaid ! In 2013 he was Reserve two more times but also was GRAND ONCE !!!...so one leg toward a permanent CHAMPIONSHIP. Perhaps 2014 will be his year to finish! As he ages he is clearly strong on his feet and legs. Of course, the real proof of a buck is the kind of daughters he produces and we very excited about what we have seen so far. He has consistently thrown fabulous general appearance daughters. Time will tell us if he also produces the same consistency in mammary systems. His daughter SHAZAM! was Grand Champion Junior Lamancha out of a large junior show/class at the age of 4 months ! She was also 13th in her yearling class at the ADGA 2012 Nationals. We repeated the breeding with BadaBing! & produced RazzleDazzle! in 2013. She now has her junior leg (at 5 months) and is quite the show diva! We are looking forward to having alot of fun with her in the near future. Sadly we lost PayDay to bacterial endocarditis in October of 2013. We are so grateful to have his wonderful offspring in our herd and to also have semen in the tank. We will definitely be going back to him in a few generations. |
