Red is a sweet little doe with wonderful udder attachments and texture. She has a smoothly blended fore udder and strong medial attachments. She was somewhat stunted as a kid with pneumonia and coccidia before we got her so she is not our largest or most beautiful doe; but she certainly is our most honest and BEST MILKING doe (Someone has to stay home and run the dairy !!!). She was on extended lactation and milked so well she has received INBA recognition for extended lactations (twice). She milks with exceptional volume while running high in butterfat and very low SCCs (a cheesemaker's dream goat !). She easily achieved her milk star in 2007. She has passed on these wonderful milking traits to her daughters Marie, Layla and Tammi, who all milked easily to their stars and have done extended lactations handily. Her final kidding was in May of 2011...and she continued to milk exceptionally well until April of 2016...one month shy of 6 years !!! Final lifetime production was an AMAZING ....
She is now retired and just hanging out ...she definitely deserves a pampered retirement. |
